Analysis: Auburn administrators rank 516th in state for average pay

Administrators in Auburn Community Unit School District 10 earn an average of $95,048 per year, ranking 516th out of 864 districts in the state, according to a Sangamon Sun analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.

The 2018 average is 13.2% higher than in 2014 and 6.7% higher than in 2009. District administrators make 11.4% less than the state average of $107,279.

Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

The Sangamon County school district enrolled 1342 students in 2017-18. There is an average of 197 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 181 to 1.
