Sangamon County Finance Committee met February 11

Sangamon County Finance Committee met Feb. 11.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

Members Present: Clyde Bunch, Annette Fulgenzi, Linda Fulgenzi, Craig Hall, Tom Madonia, David Mendenhall, John O’Neill, George Preckwinkle, Rose Ruzic, Cathy Scaife, Todd Smith, Greg Stumpf

Members Absent: Lisa Hills, Lori Williams

Others Present: Eric Black, Tim Eggleston, Andy Goleman, Denise Johnson, Brian McFadden, Paul

Palazzolo, Charlie Stratton, Mike Torchia, Terry Viar, Denise McCrady (Secretary) Chair Preckwinkle called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.

A motion to approve the minutes of the January 28, 2020 Committee meeting was made by Smith and seconded by Hall. Motion carried (12-0).

Paul Palazzolo, Circuit Clerk, requested approval to hire three replacement Part Time Records Clerks. A motion to approve the requests was made by Bunch and seconded by Stumpf. Motion carried (12-0).

Mike Torchia, Court Services, requested approval to hire a replacement Detention Officer, Probation Officer and Supervisor. All three positions are state funded and a waiver of the hiring lag was requested. A motion to approve the requests was made by O’Neill and seconded by Madonia. Motion carried (12-0).

Torchia requested approval of the application of the SFY2020 Juvenile Redeploy Illinois Planning Grant. A motion to approve the request was made by Scaife and seconded by Mendenhall. Motion carried (12-0).

Denise Johnson, Child Advocacy, requested permission to dispose of Forensic Interview Recording System. A motion to approve the request was made by L. Fulgenzi and seconded by Ruzic. Motion carried (12-0).

Brian McFadden, County Administrator, requested to table the Office Supply/Commodity Agreement with Office Essentials. A motion to table the item was made by Bunch and seconded by Scaife. Motion carried (12- 0).

McFadden has reviewed closed meeting minutes from 2019 and is recommending to keep those minutes closed and confidential, with a review of these minutes in six months. A motion to approve this recommendation was made by Smith and seconded by Mendenhall. Motion carried (12-0).

A motion for the acceptance of the purchase reports was made by Scaife and seconded by Bunch. Motion carried (12-0).

There was no Old Business or Public Comment.

A motion to adjourn was made A. Fulgenzi and seconded by Hall. Motion carried (12-0). Meeting adjourned.
