Analysis: Chatham pays $4.49 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Chatham Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 81.8 percent of the $648,588 the Chatham Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $4.49 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Sangamon Sun analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Chatham contributed $530,523 to the fund, which saw a $27,137 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $118,016, or 18.2 percent, in 2018. Another $49 came from other unspecified sources.
