As of July 31, there have been 63 Sangamon County residents in their seventies who have tested positive for COVID-19, according to numbers being reported to the Illinois Department of Public Health.

There have been 5,580 residents in their seventies in the county who had been tested, meaning that one percent of those tested have the coronavirus. Through July 31, there have been 953 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 33 deaths from the coronavirus in Sangamon County.
