Cost of college went up for all students at Lincoln Land Community College

In-state tuition and fees rose 6.7 percent for 2018-19 at Lincoln Land Community College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Illinois residents paid $6,480 to attend the two-year public institution this year – $408 more than the $6,072 charged for 2017-18.

Non-resident students would have paid 48 percent more than residents this year, or $9,588. Non-resident tuition and fees grew 6.8 percent from $8,976 in 2017-18.

About 99 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Illinois residents. And about 1 percent are citizens of other countries.

Data shows 68 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 416 students received grants or scholarships totaling $2.3 million and 130 students took out student loans totaling more than $678,067.

Including all undergraduates (5,565), 2,621 students used grants or scholarships totaling $13.4 million, and 835 students took out $5.1 million in federal student loans.
