Keeping with what they do such as “voicing opposition to anti-business proposals and supporting and passing business-friendly initiatives,” the Illinois Retail Merchants Association is speaking up on the tax increase proposed by Gov. J.B. Pritzker.
IRMA sides with other business associations in Illinois rejecting the tax increase proposal.
Together with the rest of the organizations, it urges Pritzker to discontinue proposing the tax increase which can further challenge small businesses' efforts to retain their employees, keep up with operating costs and other expenses, and recover from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We urge the Governor and legislature to reject this massive tax increase at a time when thousands of small businesses across the entire state are struggling to stay afloat during a pandemic and government-imposed shutdowns,” the group said, the Washington Examiner reported. “This will have a dramatic impact on every aspect of business, including some of our most decimated industries. We understand the desire to find revenue, but this is the opposite of an ‘all-in’ approach.”
IRMA will continue keeping an eye on the proposal.
Members of the statewide association representing retailers in Illinois enjoy several benefits including credit card processing, professional food training programs, 401k program, group health options, energy programs, insurance solutions, and many more.
