Report: Auburn School District spent $8,694 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Auburn Community Unit School District 10 was down 4.5 percent from five years ago, according to the Sangamon Sun analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Sangamon County school district spent $9,105 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $8,694 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 1,405 to 1,260 students over the same period.

Auburn's spending in 2019-20 was 40 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
