Report: Tri City School District spent $10,605 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Tri City Community Unit School District 1 was up 12.4 percent from five years ago, according to the Sangamon Sun analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Sangamon County school district spent $9,438 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $10,605 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 575 to 549 students over the same period.

Tri City's spending in 2019-20 was 26.8 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
