Report: Hardin County School District spent $9,758 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Hardin County Community Unit School District 1 was up 13.3 percent from five years ago, according to the Sangamon Sun analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Hardin County school district spent $8,615 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $9,758 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 603 to 519 students over the same period.

Hardin County's spending in 2019-20 was 32.7 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
