City of Athens City Council met May 17

City of Athens City Council met May 17.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm. Welcome given by Mayor Reichert. Roll call was taken by Clerk Rhonda Ethell. All Alderman were present. All stood for the Pledge of Allegiance.

Mayor Reichert asked for a vote to move forward and approve the Business Development District project for a total of $26,000. After further discussion vote will be tabled until the June meeting.

Mayor Reichert asked for approval of the Library Budget, after further discussion and request for more detail vote was tabled until the June meeting.

Mayor Reichert asked for a motion to approve the Wastewater Treatment Plant Refinancing. Motion made by Alderman Chernowsky seconded by Alderman Hoffman. Motion passed.

Mayor Reichert asked for approval for an ordinance authorizing and providing for the issue of Taxable General Obligation Refunding Bonds (Alternate Revenue Source), Series 2022, of the City, for the purpose of refunding certain outstanding alternate bonds of the City, providing for the levy of a direct annual tax sufficient to pay such principal and interest in the pledged revenues are insufficient to make such payment, and authorizing the sale of said bonds to the purchaser thereof. Motion made by Alderman Thompson seconded by Alderman Armbruster. Motion passed.

Mayor Reichert asked for approval of an ordinance authorizing and directing the execution of one or more Escrow Agreements in connection with the issue of Taxable General Obligation Refunding Bonds (Alternate Revenue Source), Series 2022, of the city. Motion made by Alderman Hoffman seconded by Alderman Lantz. Motion Passed.

Motion to adjourn made by Alderman Armbruster. Meeting adjourned at 8:04 PM
