Menard County Board of Commissioners met May 23

Here are the minutes provided by the commissioners:

The Menard County Board of Commissioners met for a special board meeting on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at 8:00 a.m. in the Menard County Courthouse, 102 S. Seventh Street, Petersburg, Illinois. Commissioners Ed Whitcomb, Jeff Fore and Rich Brauer were present. A quorum was present. County Coordinator Dara Worthington and County Clerk Marty Gum were also present. Commissioners Bob Lott and Troy Cummings were absent.

The meeting was called to order at 8:00 a.m.

Hearing of Citizens (Unscheduled Public Comments/Requests for Board Action)

There were no unscheduled public comments/requests for Board action.

County Clerk’s Report/ Request for Board Action

County Clerk Marty presented a liquor license for approval for an event at the Nest to be held on May 25, 2024. Just the Basics, a caterer from Chatham, presented the license to the County Clerk on May 17. Commissioner Brauer moved to approve the liquor license as presented. Commissioner Whitcomb seconded the motion. The motion carried with three ‘ayes’, no ‘nays’ and two absent.

Adjournment

With no other business coming before the Board, Commissioner Brauer moved to adjourn the meeting at 8:03 a.m. Commissioner Whitcomb seconded the motion. The motion carried with three ‘ayes’, no ‘nays’ and two absent.
