Former Illinois Springfield standout Billy Nzojyibwami has been named an assistant men's soccer coach, it was announced today by Head Coach Evan Philpott.
"We are thrilled to have Billy joining our coaching staff this fall," Philpott said. "Billy brings valuable experience to the program and exceptional knowledge of the game. I have no doubt his leadership will make an immediate impact within our entire program."
As a player for the Prairie Stars, Nzojyibwami was a first-team All-Great Lakes Valley Conference selection and was honored as both the United Soccer Coaches Association NCAA Division II and GLVC Player of the Week during the 2022 season.
Prior to joining the Prairie Stars, Nzojyibwami played for Central Methodist University and was an honorable mention NAIA All-American in 2021. He also earned first-team all-conference by the Heart of America league after scoring 10 goals with two assists in 22 matches.
Away from the pitch, Billy is a Quickbooks Conversion Specialist for Federated Fiducial in Springfield, Ill.
