ST. LOUIS – The Illinois College men's soccer team scored three goals in each half, securing a 6-1 victory over the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis at the Saint Louis University High School football stadium on Sunday.
The victory improved Illinois College to 3-1 for the season, while the Eutectics fell to 0-4.
The Blueboys took an early lead with Tyler Schiltz scoring at the 9:51 mark of the first half. Tyler Lunning added another goal just under three minutes later at the 13:39 mark. After a UHSP goal at 18:45, Schiltz scored again at the 24:29 mark, closing out the first-half scoring.
In the second half, Toby Ybarra found the net at the 50:30 mark, followed by Reed Rogers scoring just over a minute later. J'aiden Cranwell-Meneses completed the day's scoring with a goal 21 seconds before full time.
Schiltz led Illinois College with two goals and four shots, while Reed contributed three shots. Owen Macias played the entire match in goal for IC, recording one save as UHSP managed only four shots.
Next, Illinois College will make their home debut on Tuesday when they host Fontbonne at England Stadium for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff.
