The Illinois College (IC) women's soccer team faced Lawrence University in a Midwest Conference match on Saturday evening, ending with a 4-2 loss. The Lady Blues now hold an overall record of 5-7-2 and are 1-2-1 in conference play.

Lawrence quickly took control of the game, scoring two goals within the first 12 minutes by Kylie Melonis and Cambrie Rickard. IC responded in the 14th minute when Olivia Ralston delivered a corner kick that Lauren Sinclair converted into a goal. Both teams added another goal each before halftime, with Erin O'Connell scoring for IC just seconds before the break, making it 3-2 in favor of Lawrence at halftime.

In the second half, Ralston had a near miss in the 54th minute with a shot from outside the box. Lawrence's Sophia Morin scored an insurance goal in the 65th minute to seal their victory at 4-2.

Ralston and O'Connell led IC's offensive efforts with two shots each. Cassidy Tacker was active in goal for IC, recording eight saves during the match.

Looking ahead, the Lady Blues will host Faith Baptist Bible College for a non-conference match on Tuesday, October 17 at 4:00 PM. The event will also feature Senior Day celebrations starting at 2:20 PM.
