Lake Forest, Illinois – Lake Forest College secured a 3-0 victory over Illinois College in a Midwest Conference soccer match on Saturday at Farwell Field. The win improved Lake Forest's record to 8-3-5 overall and 6-0-1 in conference play. Meanwhile, the Lady Blues fell to 5-8-2 overall and 1-3-2 in the conference.
The Foresters took an early lead when Greta Gerard scored just over three minutes into the game. This goal remained the only score of the first half. In the second half, Ella Manthey extended Lake Forest's lead with a goal at the 50:26 mark, followed by Rosalie Wisniewski who completed the scoring at 71:47.
Illinois College's offense managed three shots during the match, with Olivia Ralston and Darian Blackburn each recording shots on goal. Erin O'Connell also contributed a shot for the Lady Blues. Goalkeeper Sophia Kriegesmann made nine saves for Illinois College.
The Lady Blues are set to face Cornell College next Tuesday in another Midwest Conference match at England Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
