The Illinois College men's and women's swimming and diving teams have appointed Harriet Siegrist as the new assistant coach. Siegrist brings experience from her previous role as an assistant coach for the DASH swim team in Dubuque, Iowa, where she focused on instructing young swimmers in proper techniques and water safety. She also contributed to managing a successful USA Swim Team program.

"I would like to thank Coach Chris Sykes and the search committee for this amazing opportunity to be the assistant coach for the men's and women's swim and dive team. I am excited to join a community that strives for greatness and prepares students for a successful future. I look forward to helping my student-athletes be the best they can be in the classroom and in the pool. Go Lady Blues and Blueboys!" said Siegrist.

Siegrist is an alumna of Loras College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations, Spanish & International Studies. During her time at Loras College, she was recognized as a standout member of their swim team, serving as captain and receiving multiple spirit awards.

The Illinois College swimming teams aim to build on their achievements from last year, which included setting several school records and performing well at conference meets. The upcoming season will commence with an away meet at Millikin University on Saturday, October 22nd at 1:00 PM.
