Illinois College women's swimming team edges out Monmouth with key victories

The Illinois College women's swimming team secured a narrow 100-92 victory over Monmouth on Saturday at the Coultas Natatorium in Jacksonville, Illinois. The win improved their season record to 2-1.

Key performances came from Abigail Glaser and Julia Edwards, who each claimed two individual victories. Glaser won the 1,650 freestyle with a time of 20:45.21 and later triumphed in the 500 freestyle, finishing in 6:04.94. Edwards took first place in both the 400 IM, clocking in at 5:26.03, and the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:45.03.

Jena Sellers contributed to the team's success by winning the individual title in the 100 freestyle with a time of 1:01.78.

The Lady Blues are set to face off against Monmouth once more next Saturday when they travel for another meet scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
