Illinois College women's swimming team competes at IC Winter Double Dual

The Illinois College women's swimming team faced challenges at the IC Winter Double Dual held at the Coultas Natatorium in Jacksonville, Illinois. Competing on Saturday, the Lady Blues were defeated in both of their dual meets. Millikin University secured a win against them with a score of 133-92, while Beloit achieved a victory with a score of 151-90.

Despite the overall results, individual performances stood out. Jena Sellers clinched first place in the 50-yard freestyle event, completing it in 27.45 seconds. She also earned second place in the 50-yard butterfly with a time of 24.20 seconds.

Jenna Kenning delivered notable performances as well, winning the 100-yard backstroke by finishing in 1:07.27 and securing second place in the 100-yard IM with a time of 1:09.25.

Before the competition began, Illinois College held its annual Senior Day celebrations to honor senior athletes Jenna Kenning, Madelynn DePover, Cassie Reeve, Mackenzie Strong, and Emily Wickerham.

The team will take a break for the holidays and is scheduled to return to competition on January 19th when they travel to Bloomington, Illinois for the Illinois Wesleyan University Tri Meet.
