The Illinois College men's and women's cross country teams participated in the Prairie Star Invitational in Springfield, Illinois, on Friday night. The men's team achieved a fifth-place finish.
Devin Boggs led the men's team by placing 29th with a time of 25:34.1. He was closely followed by first-year athletes Nick Hannig and Caden Dettmer, who finished 33rd (25:43.5) and 34th (25:51.9), respectively.
For the women's team, Kairy Mercado-Ramos led the way by finishing 24th with a time of 23:14.2.
Both teams are scheduled to compete next at the Bradley University Invite on Friday, September 16.
