For the second consecutive season, Illinois College's baseball team has seen one of its student-athletes named to the All-Midwest Conference teams. The league announced today that Louie Bartletti from Illinois College was selected for the All-MWC Second-Team.
Bartletti, hailing from Springfield, Illinois, started all 39 games this season, primarily playing in centerfield and as a designated hitter. He maintained a strong presence at bat throughout the season with a .356 batting average and led his team with a 1.180 OPS, ranking fifth among all MWC student-athletes.
His performance placed him among the top players in several conference statistical categories. Bartletti ended the season second in doubles with 15, fourth in triples with three, and fifth in runs batted in with 52, leading his team in this category.
Additionally, he ranked sixth in three other MWC statistical areas: runs scored, home runs, and walks. Bartletti tied with teammate Adam Passmore for the most runs on the team at 46. He also hit 11 home runs and drew 29 walks over the course of the season.
Concluding his impressive run this year, Bartletti achieved a team-high of 107 total bases and successfully stole nine bases.
