There were 27 Am. Indian students enrolled in Sangamon County school districts in the 2022-23 school year, the same number as the previous year, according to the Illinois State Board of Education.

Data showed that Am. Indian students made up 0.1% of the 26,582 students in the county. They were the second least represented ethnicity at the time.

Among the 10 districts in Sangamon County, Springfield School District 186 recorded the highest enrollment of Am. Indian students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 27 students.
