FOIA Request to City of Mount Pulaski Regarding Unpaid Parking Violations on October 28, 2024.

In our ongoing efforts to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Sangamon Sun have submitted a request under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (5 ILCS 140) to the City of Mount Pulaski. The request specifically seeks a list of all parking violations currently unpaid within the city's jurisdiction.

The information requested includes the name of the offender, their address, the amount due for each violation, the date of the violation, and the total amount due. We believe that access to these public records is essential in fulfilling our professional responsibilities which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.

As a media organization involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as a media professional. We await a response from the City of Mount Pulaski and will continue our commitment to informing our readers about important local issues.

Please stay tuned for further updates as we continue to seek transparency and accountability in our local government institutions.
