Illinois College's men's basketball team secured a win against 14th-ranked Nebraska Wesleyan, finishing with a score of 66-57. This victory was part of the Bill Merris Invitational held at Sherman Gymnasium. The Blueboys improved their season record to 4-0, while Nebraska Wesleyan now stands at 2-2.

In the match, Illinois College initially led by eight points in the first half before Nebraska Wesleyan went on a 12-0 run, ending the half with a slight edge at 32-31. In the second half, Nebraska Wesleyan extended their lead to ten points. However, Illinois College responded with an 18-2 run and maintained control for the rest of the game.

Buzz Ritzel led Illinois College with 18 points and seven rebounds. Josh Harris contributed 16 points, while Javonte McKenzie added 12 points and nine rebounds. Harris and McKenzie were also recognized as part of the Bill Merris Invitational All-Tournament team.

The Blueboys have been dominant recently, winning 36 out of their last 41 games and holding a strong record in non-conference regular-season games.

Illinois College will next face Millikin at Sherman Gymnasium on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
