The Illinois College men's tennis team has been predicted to finish fifth in the 2025 Midwest Conference Men's Tennis Preseason Coaches' Poll, as announced by the league. Grinnell College emerged as the favorite to win the conference, securing six first-place votes and leading with 36 points. Grinnell has claimed victory in the last 19 MWC regular-season titles.

Lake Forest College garnered the remaining first-place vote and accumulated 31 points, placing them second in the rankings. Cornell College followed in third place with 25 points, while Lawrence University secured fourth place with 21 points. Illinois College received 17 points for fifth place, ahead of Ripon College with 11 points and Monmouth College with six.

Returning players for Illinois College include Andrus Dupre, Momir Vickovic, and Jeff Wernsing from the previous season. The Blueboys will commence their spring season on February 28 against Earlham.

The conference will hold its Men's Tennis Team Tournament on April 25, 2025. The top four teams at the end of the regular season will compete in this single-elimination event to determine both the tournament champion and an automatic qualifier for the NCAA Tournament.

Afterward, all seven teams will participate in the MWC Men's Tennis Individual Singles and Doubles Tournament scheduled for April 26-27, taking place at Nielsen Tennis Center on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus.
