The Illinois College men's basketball team secured a decisive victory over Lawrence with a score of 66-43 at Sherman Gymnasium. This win marked the 100th career victory for Blueboys' Head Coach Steve Schweer. The Blueboys, who now stand at 15-7 overall and 8-5 in the Midwest Conference, dominated the game from start to finish. Lawrence fell to 6-16 and 4-9 in the conference.

The Blueboys took an early lead with a three-point field goal by Matt Thompson just over four minutes into the game and maintained their advantage throughout. By halftime, they led by 17 points, their largest lead of the period.

In the second half, Illinois College extended their lead to 27 points before rotating through a season-high of 18 players on the court. Josh Harris was the top scorer with 16 points, followed by Buzz Ritzel with 12 points and Ty Lenhardt with 10 points. Jaylen Swinney contributed significantly by securing a game-high of 15 rebounds.

"IC has won eight of its last eleven outings," noted one source. The team has also been successful in their recent history, winning "47 of their last 59 (47-12) games" and "64 of the past 76 (64-12)." They have also claimed victory in "36 of its previous 45 Midwest Conference contests."

Saturday's game was significant as it kicked off a series where Illinois College will play three out of four final regular-season games at home. Prior to this match, seniors Harris, Ritzel, and Thompson were honored since it was their last Saturday home game for the regular season.

Schweer reached his milestone as he became "the fourth head coach in IC basketball history to have 100 career victories."

Looking ahead, Illinois College is set to face Grinnell at Sherman Gymnasium on Tuesday for another Midwest Conference contest scheduled for a tip-off at 7:30 p.m.
