Illinois College secured a commanding 15-7 victory over Wentworth in Davenport, Florida. The Blueboys' offense was on full display as they collected 17 hits and scored in six different innings. This result brings Illinois College's record to 4-3, while Wentworth falls to 1-4.
The Blueboys initiated their scoring in the second inning with three runs, highlighted by Adam Passmore's sacrifice fly and a balk that added another run. They continued their offensive momentum in the third inning with Jon Tate hitting a triple and Passmore contributing a two-run double.
In the fourth inning, Illinois College extended their lead significantly with four more runs. Sean Raffa hit a two-run single, followed by an RBI from Louie Bartletti. Additional runs were added in the seventh and ninth innings. Raffa had an impressive performance, going 4-for-4 with five runs and four RBIs. Passmore also played a crucial role by going 3-for-6 with six RBIs.
Connor Akstulewicz pitched five solid innings to earn the win for Illinois College, while Chris Campau finished the game with two perfect innings. The Blueboys' pitching staff held Wentworth scoreless after the sixth inning to secure the victory.
Illinois College will take a break before facing Dubuque University on Thursday at 8:45 a.m. CT in Auburndale, Florida.
