Illinois College displayed a strong performance in their recent doubleheader against Eureka, securing victories in both games at Joe Brooks Field. The team excelled offensively while maintaining effective pitching to achieve the sweep.
In the first game, Illinois College set an early pace by scoring a run in the opening inning and followed with an impressive 11-run fourth inning. Louie Bartletti contributed significantly with a home run and four RBIs. The team's offense amassed 11 hits and six walks. The pitching staff limited Eureka to three runs on six hits and achieved nine strikeouts. Adam Passmore had a notable performance, going 2-3 with a double and two walks, while Tyler Barker and Logan Fleener each recorded two hits.
The second game saw Illinois College establish control quickly, taking a commanding 10-1 lead in the first inning. Defensive errors by Eureka allowed Illinois College additional opportunities to extend their lead. The Blueboys' offense continued its aggressive play with another 11 hits and six walks. Mike Dunne led Eureka with three hits, but it was not enough to counter Illinois College's offensive momentum.
Bartletti again stood out with three hits, two RBIs, and a double. Barker maintained his form from the first game with three hits driving in three runs. Passmore repeated his earlier success by going 2-3 and scoring three times for Illinois College. Their pitchers allowed only seven hits while striking out four batters to complete the sweep.
