Village of Pawnee Board of Trustees met Feb. 24

Call to Order:

• President Clarke called the meeting to order at 7:00pm 

Roll Call: 

• Village Clerk, Devona Martin called roll 

• Trustees in attendance: Dale Walters, Phillip Thompson, Troy Grant, Patrick Murphy, David Skinner, Erika Guess 

• Trustees Absent: none 

• Also in attendance: Treasurer Brent Wise, Chief Barclay Harris, Travis Simpson

Visitor's Recognition/Comments:

Clerk's Report: 

• Minutes of February 10, 2025 were presented for review and approval

Personnel & Finance Committee Report: Committee Chair, Trustee Skinner 

• Trustee Skinner presented the bills payable for the week ending February 24, 2025 in the amount of $88,283.95

• Treasurer Brent Wise presented the Monthly Budget Comparison Report for the Month Ending January 31, 2025

Gas and Water Committee Report: Committee Chair, Trustee Walters 

• Trustee Walters advised the Board that 59 red letters were sent out. 

• Trustee Walters advised the Board that the team has been busy on the service replacement project on Henkle Drive. The pressure reducing valve has been ordered and the water main project for software upgrade will start next month.

Streets, Alley and Sidewalk Committee Report: Committee Chair, Trustee Grant 

• Trustee Grant advised the Board that the guys have been hauling road grinding and limbs. They also took Christmas décor down. 

Police Committee Report: Committee Chair, Trustee Skinner 

• No report 

Sewers and Parks Committee Report: Committee Chair, Trustee Thompson 

• Travis Simpson advised the Board that they will be doing the annual pump maintenance Vandevanter Engineering. The cost is $6K. They just signed the order so it is usually be March or April. The vactor truck will be taken to Coe Equipment for service and valve check. They last time they had it done was in 2019 it was about $7K. They recommend it be serviced every 5-7 years. They will have the truck for 4-5 days and most of the cost is labor. 

Motion made by Trustee Thompson to approve the annual maintenance on the pump with Vandevanter Engineering and the vactor truck maintenance with Coe Equipment.

• Trustee Murphy advised a variance meeting for Sean Oliver regarding the property on Lemons Hill has been rescheduled to March 10 at 6pm which will be immediately before our March 10th Board meeting. 

Bargaining Committee Report: Committee Chair, President Clarke

Energy Committee Report: Committee Chair, President Clarke

Infrastructure Committee Report: Committee Chair, President Clarke
