FOIA Request to Judges' Retirement System of Illinois Regarding State Agency Contracts with Vendors on March 24, 2025.
As part of our commitment to transparency and accountability in government affairs, we at Sangamon Sun have submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Judges' Retirement System of Illinois. Our request seeks documentation and details concerning the fulfillment of contractual obligations for all contracts executed or modified between this state agency and their vendors during January of the 2023 fiscal year.
Specifically, we are requesting records that verify the scope of work performed, deliverables completed, and any reports or evaluations related to these contracts. This information is crucial for us as members of the media in our role to gather and report news that holds public institutions accountable and provides transparency to the public.
In addition, we have requested a fee waiver given our status as a media organization involved in disseminating information.
