Lardi's outstanding performance came during Saturday's game, where he delivered a three-hit shutout and achieved 12 strikeouts. This helped Illinois College secure a sweep against Monmouth in the Midwest Conference opening doubleheader. His 12 strikeouts were just one short of the school record for most strikeouts in a single game. With this victory, Lardi's season record improved to 3-0, maintaining an ERA of 3.57.
Additionally, Lardi received recognition as the Midwest Conference Pitcher of the Week on Monday, further highlighting his strong start for the Blueboys.
Looking ahead, the Blueboys are set to face Grinnell College in a conference doubleheader scheduled for Saturday. The first pitch is planned for 12:00 p.m.
