Illinois College's baseball team secured a doubleheader victory against Principia in their last non-conference matches of the season. The games, held at Joe Brooks Field in Jacksonville, Illinois, ended with decisive wins of 19-4 and 9-3 for the Blueboys.
The Blueboys, now 15-9 overall, took charge in the first game, scoring consistently throughout the six innings they batted. Louie Bartletti led the offensive charge with a triple and four RBIs, supported by Ryne Mapes and Connor Hennemann, each collecting two hits. Chris Campau secured his first season victory, allowing only one hit over four innings with two strikeouts.
In the second game, Jacob Smith dominated the mound, carrying a no-hitter through 5 2/3 innings. He completed 6 1/3 innings, yielding only three runs on three hits and striking out five. Nathan Walker shone with three hits, including a triple, while Adam Passmore, Tyler Barker, and Logan Schweigert contributed two hits apiece.
Looking ahead, Illinois College will begin their Midwest Conference season on the road this weekend with a three-game series against Knox, featuring a doubleheader on Saturday followed by a single game on Sunday.
