Rep. Nikki Budzinski, representing Illinois’ 13th district, has been vocal on various issues through her recent tweets. Since assuming office in 2023, after replacing former U.S. Congress member Rodney Davis, Budzinski has focused on topics ranging from veterans' affairs to agriculture. Budzinski, born in Peoria and a graduate of the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, currently resides in Springfield.

On April 1, 2025, Budzinski discussed the challenges facing women veterans. "Women are the fastest-growing demographic in the military, but women vets are often underserved and overlooked. It was great to meet with the Tri-State Women Warriors to hear their perspectives and talk about how we can work together to address the unique needs of women veterans."

Later that day, Budzinski highlighted her legislative efforts in supporting new farmers. On April 1, 2025, she posted, "Investing in the next generation of farmers is an investment in the future of American agriculture. I’m proud to lead bipartisan legislation with @ZachNunn, @RepJoeCourtney and @SenTinaSmith to help new and beginning farmers access land, markets and capital."

By the evening of April 1, 2025, Budzinski shared her concerns regarding the impact of potential VA layoffs. She stated, "When I talk to veterans in my district, they share their fear and confusion over what the Trump administration’s VA layoffs will mean for their care. Instead of getting answers for our veterans, @HouseVetAffairs is hosting a sales pitch."
