Illinois College runner sets national record in 200 meters at True Blue Invite

Illinois College showcased an impressive performance at the True Blue Invite in Jacksonville, overcoming challenging weather conditions. Dylan Doss emerged as a standout athlete by posting the fastest 200 meters time in the nation for the outdoor season. Doss achieved a remarkable 20.93 seconds, setting new records for both the school and the stadium at England Stadium. He also claimed victory in the 100 meters with a time of 10.38 seconds, again establishing new benchmarks for the school and venue.

In addition to Doss's achievements, the Illinois College team had other noteworthy performances. Adam Hernandez secured a win in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.23 seconds. In an impressive display of endurance, Devin Boggs triumphed in the steeplechase, clocking in at 10:18.39. Hernandez also earned a second-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 56.20 seconds.

Other notable results included Jacob Kollman, who achieved two fourth-place finishes in the high jump with 1.75 meters and the triple jump with 12.66 meters. Mark Flores also secured a fourth-place in the javelin with a throw of 43.56 meters. Nathan Barth finished fifth in the 110-meter hurdles with 17.06 seconds, and Blake Larson came fifth in both the 100 and 200 meters, recording times of 10.96 and 22.42 seconds, respectively.

The Blueboys are now set to compete at the upcoming Greenville Select meet on Saturday.
