In a high-scoring contest at Joe Brooks Field, Illinois College secured a 16-12 victory over Ripon College on Saturday afternoon. The game featured a notable offensive performance, with a combined 28 runs and 38 hits between the two teams.

The win elevated the Blueboys' record to 21-12 for the season, placing them at the top of the conference standings with a 9-5 record. Meanwhile, Ripon's record stood at 11-17 overall and 6-6 in conference play.

The key moment for Illinois College came in the third inning when they scored seven runs, with six of those scored before Ripon could register an out. The Blueboys accumulated nine extra-base hits throughout the game, including two doubles in the third inning.

Nolan Decker significantly contributed to the offense with a grand slam in the fifth inning, further extending the Blueboys' lead. Despite Ripon's attempts at a comeback, they could not overcome the early deficit.

Every Illinois College starter had at least one hit in the series finale. Decker delivered an outstanding performance, going 4-for-5 with five RBIs and three runs scored. Louie Bartletti also performed well, with a 3-for-5 effort that included a solo home run in the eighth inning. Ketch Mills, Jon Tate, and Ryne Mapes each added three hits.

On the pitching side, Parker Phillis began the game, allowing two runs over 2.1 innings, while Andrew Wieneke secured the win in relief, improving his record to 4-1.

Looking ahead, the Blueboys are scheduled to face Monmouth College on the road on Wednesday, with the first pitch set for 1:00 p.m.
