State Senator Sally Turner has announced the launch of the "2025 Outstanding Teacher of the 44th Senate District" program in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week. This initiative aims to acknowledge teachers who have significantly impacted their students and school communities through dedication, innovation, and excellence.

Senator Turner is inviting nominations from students, parents, colleagues, and community members for educators who exceed expectations. “I am proud to once again launch my Outstanding Teacher program to recognize the amazing work educators do each and every day,” said Senator Sally Turner. “Our teachers play a critical role in shaping future generations, and this program is a small way to say thank you for all they do.”

Eligible nominees must be current teachers at grade schools, middle schools, or high schools within the 44th Senate District. The selection will be based on the quality of nominations rather than the quantity received.

Nominations are open until May 31 and can be submitted online. The winner(s) will be informed during the summer and will receive formal recognition from the Illinois State Senate. This includes an official certificate, potential acknowledgment in Springfield, and a gift card as a token of appreciation.
