The Boone County Conservation District has secured $2.7 million in capital funding from the Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program. This funding will be used for replacing five bridges along the Long Prairie Trail, which stretches from Illinois Route 76 to the Boone County/McHenry County line.

This grant is part of a larger initiative, with $139.2 million allocated for projects announced by the Governor and the Illinois Department of Transportation. These projects aim to improve local travel options and enhance community quality of life across the state.
