State Representative Mike Coffey has introduced House Bill 2747, which aims to enhance security measures in libraries across Illinois. The bill seeks to amend the Illinois Library System Act, directing existing grant funds towards improving safety for both residents and tourists.

Rep. Coffey expressed his satisfaction with the initiative, stating, "I’m proud to have Sponsored HB2747 and to see advanced library security in action. By updating security in our community libraries, we will make residents and tourists alike feel comfortable visiting our libraries with their children and grandchildren."
