Sangamon County Zoning Board of Appeals met June 18

The Sangamon County Zoning Board of Appeals will meet on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. in the County Board Chambers, Room 222, 200 S. 1. Approval of the minutes of the May 15, 2025 meeting.  

2. 2025-009 Zoning and Land Use Committee of the Sangamon County Board

Regarding text amendments to Chapter 17.04; Section 17.10.020; Section 17.10.030; Section 17.28.020; Section 17.28.030; Section 17.30.030; Chapter 17.35 Battery Energy Storage Systems; and, Chapter 17.39 – Data Centers of the Sangamon County Zoning Ordinance.

County Board Member: David Mendenhall, District # 3

Petitioners request for Proposed Parcels 1 and 2: pursuant to Chapters 17.68 and 17.12, a rezoning from “A” Agricultural District to “R-1” Single Family Residence District; pursuant to Chapter 17.66, a variance of Section 17.36.010(B) to allow an accessory structure to be approximately twenty-five (25) feet instead of the maximum height of eighteen (18) feet allowed in the “R-1” Single-Family Residence District; and, a variance of Chapter 17.04 (Lot depth) to allow the lot depth to be greater than two and one-half (2.5) times the lot width.
