Macie Petropoulos tied for second place in her first collegiate tournament, helping the Illinois College Lady Blues golf team secure a fifth-place finish at the Highland Championships held in Rock Island, Illinois. The event took place over two days, Sunday and Monday.
Petropoulos opened with a 75 in the first round, which now stands as the ninth-lowest round in Illinois College history. She followed with a 77 in the second round, finishing at eight-over par for the tournament. Her total score of 152 is also notable as it ranks fourth all-time among 36-hole scores for the program.
Other contributors to the Lady Blues’ performance included Emily Guest, who shot an 82; Shelby Seiler, who posted an 88; and Karlie Basler, who finished with an 89. The team's combined score over two rounds was 668, marking the 13th-best team score for a 36-hole event in program history.
The team will compete next at the Country Club Classic at Jacksonville Country Club on Monday, September 8, with play beginning at 10:00 a.m.
