Illinois College's women's soccer team experienced its first defeat of the season, falling 3-0 to Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday at England Stadium in Jacksonville.

The Lady Blues now hold a record of 2-1-1, while Illinois Wesleyan improved to 1-2-0 after the match.

Illinois Wesleyan opened the scoring at the 13:42 mark and maintained a 1-0 lead through halftime. The Titans added two more goals in the second half, scoring at 69:33 and again at 76:48.

Illinois College was limited to three shots in the game, with Lexi Van Dyke, Sofia Russo, and Katy Adler each recording one attempt. Stella Gonzalez started as goalkeeper for Illinois College and made six saves. Haley Schuerman entered the game for the final 17 minutes, making her collegiate debut.

The Lady Blues will continue their homestand on Wednesday when they host Central for a non-conference match scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m.
