Kampwerth and Walbaum tied for seventh after first round at Cougar Fall Classic

The Illinois College men's golf team completed the first round of the Cougar Fall Classic at Metamora Fields on Monday, ending the day in 11th place ahead of Tuesday's final round.

Myles Kampwerth and Teddy Walbaum led the Blueboys, each recording a two-over 73 to tie for seventh place. They are five strokes behind the individual leader.

Other notable scores for Illinois College included Emmitt Brokaw with an 82 and AJ Odle with an 85. The team's combined score was 315, putting them 27 shots back from the top spot in the tournament.

Illinois College also entered a second squad, referred to as the White Team, which finished round one in 16th place. Ashton Sutton posted an 80 to lead this group, followed by Ian Otto with an 88, Isaac Anderson with a 91, and Zach Diekemper with a 95.

Both teams are scheduled to play the final round at Metamora Fields on Tuesday, starting at 1:00 p.m.
