The Illinois College volleyball team played at home in Sherman Gymnasium on Tuesday night, facing Greenville University. The Lady Blues lost the match 3–1, with set scores of 12–25, 25–18, 13–25, and 23–25.
This result brings Illinois College’s record to 2-4 for the season. Greenville University now stands at an even 4-4.
Illinois College started slowly in the first set but came back strongly in the second, achieving a .303 team hitting percentage. Laura Kaiser led her team with nine kills and a .533 hitting percentage. Riley Drake contributed six kills, ten digs, and three service aces.
Setter Summer Brandis recorded 22 assists for Illinois College. Mady Salisbury added three service aces and nine digs. On defense, Reagan Oster had nine digs while Elliana Huckstep made two blocks.
Despite a late rally in the fourth set by Illinois College, Greenville secured the win behind Elaina Evers’ 15 kills.
Next up for the Lady Blues is participation in the Windy City Invite in Chicago. They will play Franklin College on Friday night at North Park University.
