Madison Bunfill, Assistant Coach | Illinois College Lady Blues Softball
Illinois College has appointed Madison Bunfill as an assistant softball coach, according to an announcement from Head Coach Samantha Mendez.
"I am excited to have Madison on our staff," Mendez said. "Her competitiveness and championship mindset are exactly what we need to continue to elevate our program to the next level."
Bunfill joins Illinois College after a successful playing career at Ottawa University in Kansas. During her time with the Braves, she became the program's all-time leader in home runs and ranked among the top 10 in several categories, including slugging percentage, walks, at-bats, RBI, doubles, runs scored, and stolen bases. She was named All-Kansas Collegiate Athletics Conference three times.
While Bunfill played for Ottawa University, the team won three conference championships and advanced to the NAIA World Series in 2021.
Off the field, Bunfill earned Academic All-District honors three times. Originally from Tarkington, Texas, she will continue working toward her degree in Sports Studies at Illinois College.
