Illinois College volleyball splits matches at Windy City Invite

Illinois College's women's volleyball team ended the Windy City Invite in Chicago with a split result, defeating Kalamazoo before losing to North Park University. The Lady Blues now hold a 4–5 record for the season and finished the tournament with two wins and one loss.

In their first match of the day, Illinois College secured a 3–1 win over Kalamazoo with set scores of 25–20, 14–25, 26–24, and 25–20. Delani Klaas led the offense with 12 kills, while Elliana Huckstep contributed eight kills. Laura Kaiser was notable at the net with seven blocks, and Mady Salisbury served five aces. Summer Brandis managed the team's distribution with 26 assists, and Riley Drake led defensively with 14 digs. The team collectively recorded 11 blocks and totaled 61 digs.

The second match saw Illinois College fall to host North Park in four sets: 14–25, 25–14, 10–25, and 11–25. After splitting the first two sets—highlighted by strong hitting from Kaiser and Klaas—the Lady Blues could not keep pace as North Park took control in the third and fourth sets. Illinois College posted a total of 31 kills in this match; Kaiser had seven kills while Drake added six. Brandis and Liv Cox combined for another solid performance as setters with a total of 26 assists between them. Defensively, both Drake and Salisbury finished with eight digs each.

North Park registered a .311 hitting percentage along with 47 kills during their victory over Illinois College.

Looking ahead, Illinois College will return home to host Nebraska Wesleyan at Sherman Gymnasium during their upcoming invitational event on Community Night.
