Illinois College women’s golf team sits third after first round at Fighting Scot Fall Invite

The Illinois College women's golf team is in third place after the first round of the Fighting Scot Fall Invite at Gibson Woods Golf Course in Monmouth, Illinois. The Lady Blues recorded a team score of 335 (+51), trailing the leaders by 16 strokes heading into the final round.

Macie Petropoulos led Illinois College with a seven-over-par 78, tying her for seventh place individually and putting her three shots behind the tournament leader. Petropoulos finished her last seven holes at one-over par.

Shelby Seiler, coming off an individual win at the Country Club Classic, shot a 12-over-par 83 to tie for eighth place. Emily Guest and Karlie Basler rounded out the team's scoring with rounds of 87.

The Lady Blues will conclude play in the Fighting Scot Invite tomorrow morning, with tee times starting at 8:00 a.m. at Gibson Woods Golf Course.
