State Representative Charlie Meier organized a free tire recycling event in Troy, partnering with the Troy/Maryville/St. Jacob/Marine Chamber of Commerce at Triad High School. The event saw participation from hundreds of community members, resulting in two trucks being filled with recycled tires.
“We had another outstanding turnout at our Tire Recycling event in Troy this morning,” said Rep. Meier. “We completely filled 2 trucks and were able to take every last tire. Thank you to all who joined, and especially Edwardsville FFA Chapter and Highland FFA for helping direct traffic and load tires, and to Troy/Maryville/St. Jacob/Marine Chamber of Commerce for partnering with their electronic recycling and shred event.”
Young volunteers from local FFA chapters assisted by loading tires into the trucks during the event.
Meier, a Republican, began representing Illinois’ 109th House District in 2023 after succeeding David Reis.
