Menard County residents will pay an additional $3,475,585 in state income taxes this year, according to an analysis by Local Government Information Services (LGIS).

Sangamon County’s four police and fire pension funds paid out a total of $26,027,658 in benefits to 484 retirees and inactive recipients in 2016 while losing $12,137,997 on their investments, according to a Sangamon Sun analysis of the funds' mandated financial filings with the Illinois Department of Insurance.
