The City Council of Springfield, Illinois is meeting tomorrow, March 15, to consider an ordinance that would accept a grant, among other items.
Listed as an emergency passage item, the grant is being offered by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity in order to support the International Tourism Marketing Program. This grant totals $363,697.50, which includes matching funds of $121,232.50 from the city. Alongside this measure there will be a request for an additional appropriation of $242,465 for the Springfield Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Also up for review is whether to accept an annexation agreement with Jeron and Sharon Michel for their property located at 3004 South Allis St. The council will also consider a the execution of an amended lease agreement with Pinnacle Ltd. that would involve a parking garage at 700 East Adams St.
Within this meeting’s consent agenda, the council will also be considering bid agreements that relate to the bituminous overlay program and the maintenance program for Brick Street that are scheduled to take place in 2017.
