The Zoning Board of Appeals for Sangamon County, Illinois is scheduled to meet on Thursday, March 17 to review three petitions.
One comes from Kevin Miller. He has requested that property located at 2814 South 11th St. in Springfield be rezoned as a manufactured home district (RM-4) in order to authorize an additional home to be placed at the location. The district is currently classified as a R-2, a single or two-family residence.
Another petition was filed by Janice Park that would rezone four parcels in the 1000 and 1100 blocks of Farley Road and in the 8600 block of Old Jacksonville Road in Pleasant Plain to be considered R-1, single-family district rather than their agricultural districting. On this petition there is also a variance request for two of the parcels that, if approved, would allow a lot depth over the current allowance of two-and-a-half times the width of the lot and the other would allow a parcel to be under the 40-acre requirement.
The third petition was submitted by William and Christine Rincker, requesting that property at 14670 Nave Rd. in Mechanicsburg be reclassified as a B-1, business district rather than an agricultural classification. The petitioners are also requesting four principal uses on the lot: a single-family home, a camping and tent park, a horse breeding and boarding facility and a dog obedience and training facility that would also serve as a kennel.
This meeting will take place at 7 p.m. in the County Board Chambers at the County Building.
