The Sangamon, Illinois County Office of Emergency Management (OEM) and the 911 Committee will be meeting on Wednesday, March 30 to discuss departmental reports.
The OEM report will be presented by David Butt. Reports will also be presented by the divisions tasked with managing the 911 system and the county rescue squad by Dave Dodson and Bill Russell, respectively.
The board will also consider an update on radio systems during this session.
This meeting is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. at the 911 Dispatch Center that is located at 2000 Shale Ave. in Springfield. This committee typically meets on the last Wednesday of each month.
Meeting minutes from the committee’s previous session on Feb. 24 will be reviewed and voted for approval.
The OEM consists of two positions: a director and a deputy coordinator who also serves as the chief of the Sangamon County Rescue Squad. The OEM is tasked with equipment maintenance and training for volunteers, among other duties. The county’s rescue squad consists of 47 volunteer members, 19 search and rescue canines and 14 certified divers.
